Reverend Phyllis Criss, CSWC
Letter to The Seminary (2/15/10)

This note is for the purpose of relating my gratitude to you, and The Ministerial Seminary of America.  My joy in sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ began as a child as early as four years of age sharing Pastor's message to my dolls.  I still recall Rev. Robinson.  My mother, an evangelist and prayer warrior, I learned at my mother's knees.

While searching for an Ordination in a Ministerial role, to actually see this title on paper, I found The Ministerial Seminary of America and took a step of faith.  My needs were accomplished in the discovery of becoming ordained as an Independent Minister.  This find enables me to minister the gospel message of Jesus Christ simply as Jesus intended using the Holy Bible as my text, under the anointing of the Holy Spirit of our LIving God.

This letter is somewhat slow in coming as I have found it difficult to find adequate words to express in relation to the Seminary and its eloquent founder, Rev. Barbara S. Eberle.  May I share?  During the time of my search, Rev. Eberle was always kind and patient while gently providing leadership and trust.  While an online study, the interaction of this professor is of classroom attention, contact and value.  She is firm, decisive, yet presents a warm loving guidance, an openness and acceptance.  The Ministerial Seminary is generous in providing a payment plan making the course work adaptable to all.

Following my Ordination, my step of faith led me to earning Certification as a Spiritual Witnessing Counselor.  My experience on a college level began a Medical Assisting Major, a Business Major, Certification UC Berkeley, Vocational Teacher, to include Psychology, additional studies within my own denomination, and community study re: Drug Abuse Coalition, enables me to say, without doubt, the course study for CSWC, is of the finest University level.

This course study work is beneficial to anyone who comes in contact with the general public.  I would recommend this study for personal growth, for the betterment of self and building a good relationship with others. The text books show an excellence in sequential selection.   This CSWC course includes a study of its own merit, "Childhood Pain," by Rev. Eberle, herself.  This is an outstanding work causing the student to look deeply into the past and past influences, bringing a healing within, enabling, the Spiritual Counselor to look at clients with deep compassion.

Most Sincerely,
Reverend Phyllis Criss, CSWC

Richard:

Let me first say "to God be the Glory for the Ministerial Seminary of America."  When I first signed up for this course and received and reviewed the materials, my first thought was "My God, what have I gotten myself into?"  At first glance, the materials looked intimidating.  As I settled down, and the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance that " ... this is the will of God concerning me" (1Thessalonians 5:18), and as I read the first paragraph of the introduction, "You are about to begin a course of study designed to guide you along a journey of, 1) self-discovery, 2) spiritual growth and 3) academic challenge," I began to feel at ease and started looking forward to experiencing the very three things the statement referred to."

Martha:

When I started on this journey to become a Certified Nondenominational Christian Minister, I really did not know what to expect. But once I got several opportunities to converse with Rev. Barbara - I realized this was a divine intervention. I have learned so much these past (3) months and it has set my mind at ease to know that through the use of -  The Developing Christian and Into the Silent Land - I was also able to practice being silent for a two time period. The first time it was for (4) months and just recently one month.

The Funeral and Wedding assignments helped me tremendously - especially with the marriage counseling and legalization of the marriage ceremony in itself. The Order of Worship, Marriage Ceremony and Funeral Service preparations were helpful also - in the using of the proper protocol for family, friends as well as clergy!

I have never had a problem with sermon writing! I have a great anointing for writing and paring it with music! But the only challenge was picking a topic from a list - because normally I pray and God gives me the Scripture - song and Title and I go from there (But this was awesome!)

The Spiritual Development and Human Development was very exciting to me - because Psychology was my Minor in college. I have always been interested as to what, and how the mind, ego, brain is regulated. So I found out why - I am so misunderstood - not that I did not already know - One would call my intellect/personality character trait (Smart) - I never could tolerate trivial stuff - I am not one to waste time - and I hate being idle!

All in all I enjoyed the class - it allowed me to pace myself - I put myself on a timeframe. Religious Vow of Silence and God controlled the whole process! He is awesome! It has been my pleasure to have been able to take this course of study - at such a time as this! God Bless!

Marc:

"I am enjoying the contemplative portion of the Nondenominational Christian Minister's program.  It is parting the veil I held between myself and my God."

Rev. Belinda and Rev. Patrick:

"Heaven has sent us a blessing when it sent us The Ministerial Seminary.  God bless and keep you!"

Robert:

"Please keep up the good work.  We were blessed to find your seminary!"
